The Connecticut
Weather Center was formed in 1984 under the name of Techni-Weather. The owner and President is Bill Jacquemin, who is a Meteorologist
as well as a teacher of Science and Math. The weather service provides crucial weather information to radio stations, newspapers,
Superintendent of Schools, private clients, law firms offering Forensic Meteorological services and expert testimony, and
more. The CT Weather Website, started in 1996, continues to provide the public with FREE weather information
as well as pollen reports, traffic information, skiing reports, boat and beach reports for Long Island Sound, Inland Lakes,
and Candlewood Lake. Power outage information from both United Illuminating and CL&P, and educational links are also offered.
We were FIRST with the IAN (Internet
Access Notification) System in the state in the late 90’s. The IAN System allows any Superintendent of Schools can post
their latest information on the school schedule and their entry is posted immediately for everyone to see
We were FIRST with the Free E-Notification Service. Parents, students and the general
public can sign up to get an e-mail or text message of exactly what is posted for the school, business, or other entity that
posts on the IAN System.
We continue to strive to help recycling efforts over
the state as well as education of the public in weather issues.
We are now FIRST
with STORM FORCE, which will help save money and lives and will possibly be the single most helpful tool in weather disaster
preparedness.
